I am so tired of the religious right saying our forefathers founded this country on christian principles. Most of the Founding Fathers were deists which means they believed that the universe had a creator but he does not concern himself with the daily lives of humans, either from revelation or sacred books. They spoke of the God of nature, but that was not the God of the bible. They did not deny there was a person named Jesus, and they praised him for his benevolent teachings, but they denied the he was divine. Not that I should be surprised that they are trying to change history. It's certainly not the first time they have tried to do that.
