Just like those who deny man-made climate change they are adept at misstating actual facts and pandering to the fears of people who already have heard numerous lies about gay people.

The religious right labels anyone who defends science and its findings as "pro-gay conspirators," and, when those who disagree with them point out that such a term is misleading and biased, this is only perceived as all the more proof to them that those who disagree with their spiritual "wisdom," MUST be part of a "pro-gay conspiracy.

One person I debate with online has been repeating the claim that in most gay-bashing incidents, it is really the gay person's fault for making unwanted passes or sexual overtures, and that a poor heterosexual guy has every right to beat the unfotunate person who supposedly makes the pass, into a bloody and unconscious pulp. Yet, if one tries Googeling something like "Do gay men deliberately attack straight men?" instantaneously one receives dozens of hit spread over the span of many pages, which report the many brutal assault made on gays by homophobic males. I found it hard to discover even one or two accounts of the reverse situation that might have possibly been applicable!

It is somewhat depressing to discover just to what lengths ignorance and hatred will go to try and hold on to its old self-justifying lies.

I wish I could make these people see, that scientific research should be more aptly described as. pro-fact, or pro-truth, rather than, "pro-gay." There often seems that no way remains which can effectively break through their "catch 22," kind of paradoxical thinking.

The real reason I have such an intense interest in this issue--despite the fact that I have been in a hetero-sexual relationship for almost 35 years--is that I grew up having a friend who was gay. This person was one of the most talented people I have ever met, and eventually earned a fine arts degree, from the University we both attended. And, as children, none of us even knew about any prejudice about such things, nor did we have any reason to believe that my friend was any more evil or wicked than we were at certain times--while we were just busy being kids!

I am also someone who detests all of the lies and rotten tactics used by Obama hating politicians who try to sway the public with similar deceptions. More than anything else, I am pro-truth, or pro-fact, and as such I must raise my voice in protest about all of this complete insanity on the part of so many religious and (supposedly) moral people. The real reason the religious right and brutal hetero-sexuals hate gays so much, does not have anything to do with either justice or God! It is simply one more example of a social norm shared by a majority who become fearful and intolerant about something that they cannot understand. I still believe in a God of love, but very few of those who claim divine knowledge of his "will," are moral or loving in the least!

Just had to say that!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
