It is their ability to instill the same prejudices in their children that they themselves hold dear that is genuinely threatened. Because if and when people are exposed to real, live transgender folks, they invariably learn, surprisingly enough, that other than being born with a gender identity that doesn't match our assigned sex at birth, we are pretty much just like them. And when we're permitted to use the same bathrooms that they do, they discover it's -- *shocked gasp* -- for the same simple, mundane reasons they do, and it's genuinely no big deal. It's hard to hold onto artificial prejudices in the face of actual life experience that contradicts the prejudice.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08203225006765541667noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33855769.post-82791889865529289312016-09-22T00:26:44.233-07:002016-09-22T00:26:44.233-07:00"as if they believe that constant repetition ..."as if they believe that constant repetition is the same as truth." Don't let a transgender girl pee in the girls room, but oops, a convicted pedophile just moved in next door. Well, at least their not trans, so it's okay. ...Not quite the same concept, but similar in note:

'I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in his stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Counciler or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate, who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who prefers a negative peace which is the absence of tension to a positive peace which is the presence of justice; who constantly says: "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I cannot agree with your methods of direct action"; who paternalistically believes he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by a mythical concept of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait for a "more convenient season." Shallow understanding from people of good will is more frustrating than absolute misunderstanding from people of ill will. Lukewarm acceptance is much more bewildering than outright rejection.' -- Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., 'Letter from Birmingham Jail'Shannon Vanshoonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12408176556203099789noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33855769.post-7057059187616852592016-09-21T10:05:52.800-07:002016-09-21T10:05:52.800-07:00Although I don't believe them on this issue, l...Although I don't believe them on this issue, loss of innocence is a natural part of growing up, unless one plans to live under a rock.Torhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01147999799620721941noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33855769.post-10137998981873611452016-09-21T07:54:08.200-07:002016-09-21T07:54:08.200-07:00I sent them a message through their website. they ...I sent them a message through their website. they don't seem to like having public discussions because by their own admission, they cannot control the narrative. so sad... =(Briannanoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33855769.post-59456434959087087132016-09-21T06:17:19.165-07:002016-09-21T06:17:19.165-07:00Comments are disabled for the video on YouTube.......Comments are disabled for the video on YouTube....which begs the question: How can we ask you first if you won't even allow comments?Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15589336742616303054noreply@blogger.com
