It's truly sad, and pathetic, that NOM, et al. don't want these marriages to be legal because, to them, it's unthinkable for them to be REAL marriages (period) for no other reason their their personal religious proclivities! Maggie once said to a married Lesbian woman, "To hear to talk of it your marriage sounds better than mine, but it's not a real marriage!" as if the only justification she needs is her personal beliefs!
ReplyDeleteDiaz is on his second marriage. Can we vote to annul it?
ReplyDeleteBigotry and ignorance are familiar traits of morons like Diaz, they're so blinded by religious dogma they cannot handle living in the 21st century. I'm not gay I don't even live in the USA but I can't see a problem with people being happy.
ReplyDeleteThe Religious Right have taken over the Republican party, the rest of the world is looking on increasingly concerned by the intolerance on display from Right Wingers.
Thanks for calling attention to the omission of transgender and bisexual people of color--we're easily left out ("that's too much to say/write, everyone *knows* 'gay and lesbian' includes bi and trans..."), and, as a consequence, ignored. Almost like we're too much trouble because we "complicate" matters; as all LGBT people of colour do (or, I could add, disabled LGBT people). Hmm. Couldn't be a connection, could there?
