Right after he and Congressman Barney Frank (D-MA) practically teamed up to annihilate the Family Research Council's Tony Perkins on Hardball, Chris Matthews joined MSNBC's Andrea Mitchell to further call attention to Perkins' inaccuracies concerning families and the lgbtq community:

wtf does Tony Perkins have the right to speak about the glbt commununity the way he does, he has no psychology degree, he has no indepth theology degree. From what I have read if you are not a theologican then you can't interpute the bible. This dude is a wack job! His credianls are not what he is "preaching" about.

  3. While it's nice to see Matthews beginning to see Perkins for the lying sack of shit that he is, I really can't stomach his pandering, devil's advocate approach. He like to play both sides. When Barney is there, he jumps in and becomes aggressive. When it's just him and Perkins, he's a lot more forgiving. That's why I hardly ever watch his show. Rachel is a lot more consistent.

I always find the notion of upbringing to cause someone to be gay to be inherently offensive. My parent's had the misfortune of having a child with a learning disability and taught her well how to function in the world. There other child, though cared for well, couldn't help but suffer for the extra attention.

When one's gay? The one with that extra care. Now if they want to say having a learning disability makes you gay then I'd like to talk to them about that. But my parent's raised me right. I don't want to ask him what he'd do if his kid came out. I want to ask him when he'd do when he got the note saying he's going to go look for people who really love him, of worse, hanging from a rafter with a note saying this was the only way he could keep from being gay.
