'Ex-gays' whining about 'Banned Book Week'

Don't you just hate it when people and organizations interject themselves into situations due to a desperate need to bring attention to themselves.

I call it "pulling a Palin." Case in point:

The American Library Association conducts Banned Books Week to protest books that have been removed from library shelves claiming censorship.

The dates this year are from October 22 to 28. Christopher Doyle of Voice of the Voiceless says the ALA does not include on their “banned book” list any ex-homosexual literature, which is banned in libraries across the United States, including in schools But books affirming the homosexual lifestyle are generally kept on the shelves for everyone, including youths, to read.

Doyle says that makes one wonder why books about leaving the lifestyle, sometimes offered free, are rejected by libraries.

He has an answer.

“There are homosexuals and the gay activists in that organization that are actively anti-ex-gay and keeping us out of this list,” Doyle tells OneNewsNow.

I know for a fact that us gay activists aren't plotting to keep 'ex-gay' literature from school libraries. I mean with all of the recruiting children and building all of the jails we are plotting to put Christians in, we barely have enough time to reach our 100 sexual partners a month quota.

Just where in heck could we fit in banning "ex-gay" literature from libraries?

Editor's note - the article even got the date of Banned Books Week wrong. It's Sept. 22-28.

    That's great. Thank you.

  2. Quite right. Building my undersea base for World Lesbian Domination is taking every spare minute. And dealing with the condensation problems on the windows. I can barely find time to recruit straight women by making them watch the L-Word and Orange is the New Black.

  3. And as if that recent stunt was not enough Doyle is now going after LGBTQ resource centers at Virginia universities. He says that he sent “undercover researchers” posing as grad students to university LGBTQ centers and is claiming that they are engaging in “viewpoint discrimination” because they didn’t recommend ex-gay therapy when his people said that they struggled with unwanted same sex attraction.

Instead the resource centers advised against ex-gay change efforts rightly citing the high risk of harm and low chance of success and rightly saying that homosexuality isn’t some problem that needs to be fixed.

The fact that Doyle is even trying to get university LGBTQ centers to support ex-gay therapy is outrageous, and I’m especially ticked off because one of the schools he targeted was George Mason University, the school I graduated from and one with a great LGBTQ center.

  4. As a library paraprofessional, this guy's ass is showing (that's a technical term). Libraries are not just storehouses of books - we are always evaluating what we receive. Most libraries do not accept donations from the general public anymore at all, and definitely do not accept donations from religious advocacy organizations.
