Christopher Rufo running a homophobic, 'anti-woke' shell game. Expose his hype

Well today, we saw how the insurance company State Farm got bullied into abandoning a very good project of educating kids about the trans community.

 State Farm, the insurance company, was going to partner with the GenderCool Project to help give LGBTQ books to schools, community center, and libraries. But in an email to employees, the insurance company canceled the partnership, saying that “conversations about gender and identity should happen at home with parents,” echoing language used to support Don’t Say Gay bills. In January, State Farm emailed employees about the small partnership, which was going to involve six agents in Florida giving some books to organizations in their community, part of a nationwide program involving 550 employees. 

 . . . One of the books is entitled A Kids Book about Being Inclusive. Its online description says: “Being inclusive is a choice we can make every day! Being inclusive means reaching out to and welcoming all people and everything that makes them who they are. When we learn to see the beauty in our differences, we can embrace the rich, diverse, and amazing world we live in together!” 

 The anodyne nature of the books didn’t stop the well-connected anti-LGBTQ activist Chaya Raichik of the notoriously hateful Libs of TikTok account from saying that State Farm “is working to fill schools with books on kids becoming trans and non-binary,” leading to an outcry against State Farm. Now State Farm has pulled out of the partnership. In another email to employees, Chief Diversity Officer Victor Terry said that the partnership with the GenderCool Project is over. 


 The 'groomer indoctrination' card strikes again. And conservatives have been practically wetting themselves over State Farm's change in attitude. Like this guy:


To the luckily uninitiated, Christopher Rufo is the newest homophobe on the block. That's right. Move over Peter LaBarbera, Linda Harvey, Matt Barber, Ryan T. Anderson, and every other bigot we've vanquished because Christopher has got goals to wreck us.  Unlike those others, he had the power of a cadre misinformers behind him either lapping up or repeating his every word. He first came on the scene pedaling the very successful anti-Critical Race Theory hysteria. This got him heavy mainstream attention.

 And now he has set his sights on attacking LGBTQ people.  Or at the very least, telegraphing it with the clumsiness of a James Bond villain. And with that clumsy telegraphing comes much embellishment.  That's always our saving grace when it comes to the enemies of our equality. They lie so much that they tend to lie to themselves.

You can see by his tweet that Rufo takes partial credit for the awful recent branding of the Disney Corporation as 'groomers' out to supposedly indoctrinate children being LGBTQ. He is also claiming that he is silencing companies from taking part in 'woke' politics:



No doubt that's going to get him some very nice play on Fox News, the Daily Caller, the Federalist, and other places pedaling lies under the category of rigged debates. But when one eliminates the Dr. Evil hype Rufo is pushing, one notices the con game he is playing. While he claims that the attack on State Farm was another link in the attack on 'woke' companies which began with Disney, the truth seems to be less of the workings of a cultural warrior and more of the moves of a shady financial analyst trying to cook the books.

In other words, Rufo seems to be covering up the fact that the attack om Disney, which he takes partial credit for, is pretty much a failure by shifting attention on State Farm. He's trying to make it seem that the attack on State Farm is a clever interlocked plan which began with the attack on Disney instead of what it is - an admission that the 'grooming' slur on Disney has failed.

Don't be fooled by all of that mess about Disney's approval going down. Nor that other junk about its removal of its special status (which is blowing up in the face Florida legislators who passed it) or that mess about the stock market.

What Rufo is doing here when it comes to Disney - and his other tweets - is claiming that he is causing all of this with his anti-woke plans, but he's not providing proof. He's merely taking advantage of certain incidents and embellishing others to give himself more clout, which he is bound to get by the resentment starved audience he is catering to.

The truth is, while Disney's own wishy-washy position on DeSantis's 'Don't Say Gay' law was the reason why it got into trouble, claiming that people are turning away from Disney because of some supposed 'woke ideology' simply isn't true.

Nor is the belief that Disney is somehow 'pulling back' from anything, as evidenced by the fact that the company is actually boosting its support of the LGBTQ community. Last week just in time for June's Pride Month, the company announced the launch of an LGBTQ clothing line with merchandise sales going to LGBTQ organizations.

Nor is Disney backing down in its parks either:

Disney also said it plans to celebrate the LGBTQ community with themed food and beverage, art displays, and special photo opportunities at the theme parks during June’s Pride Month.

Of course all of this will either be omitted or distorted by Rufo, his allies and sycophants as they march to the imaginary drum of their war on LGBTQ people and wokeness. Hype is their power and the growth of their claims through the constant feeding of their echo chamber is what they use to garner mainstream press.

The name of their game is faking it until you make others believe that you make it.
