Well I am in Rhode Island for Netroots Nation and it promises to be fun. I already feel rejuvenated being around so many high level lgbtq bloggers and hope to have my spirits renewed and restored.
Now I wasn't going to post anymore today but a blogging buddy of mine sent me something which I just had to talk about as yet another example of religious right hypocrisy.
A certain "Christian" blogger by the name of Stacy Harp has issued the following for me:
What prompted Harp to call me out? I don't know. I guess I have been posting some very good anti-religious right stuff lately.
Anyway, Harp alluded to the Truth4Time story I broke earlier this year and that I stand by.
However, since Harp wants to bring up the past, let's bring up hers as a way of giving anyone not familiar with her an idea of what type of "Christian" she is.
Not surprisingly enough, she is the type who masks her ignorant raw homophobia behind a phony religious veneer. Years ago, she attempted to bait a friend of mine, Joe Brummer, into a ridiculous conversation about gay sex. Below, via Pam's House Blend, are various comments made by Harp (I apologize in advance for the language):
So folks, who do you think needs prayer more? Me or Stacy?

Praying for the Homosexual & Lesbian Community
Please share with your friends who have a heart to see the lost come to Christ.
Please pray for Alvin McEwen today. Alvin isn't known by many people, but he is an active homosexual blogger who advocates daily for homosexuality. He has written about how he is a Christian on his blog, Holy Bullies and Headless Monsters, and recently made headlines when he claimed to have "exposed" a right wing group of Christian leaders who he said were out to commit a cyber attack on the gay community. (He was quickly found to be found out wrong.)
Pray for Alvin's emotional healing and for him to come to a biblical understanding of who Christ is, so that he will know the true freedom found in a personal relationship with Christ and leave the sin of homosexuality behind.
Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God. 1 Corinthians 6:9-11

Stacy: You’re in total denial. And for you to enjoy sex with a man, you know, whether it’s anal or oral, whatever the heck it is you do, that’s just wrong. It’s perverted – It’s disgusting – It’s unnatural – and you know it.
And:
Stacy: Homosexuality is all about sex, and that’s disgusting. You don’t teach sex to three year olds. I’m sorry, but that just is not appropriate. You do not do that.
Stacy: It’s not a lie, it’s totally the truth. That’s what makes you gay, is that you like to put your penis in somebody’s asshole. That’s what makes you gay.
And:
Stacy: No, you know it’s…so let me ask you something…
Joe: Regardless, I now have less than fifteen minutes to get myself out the door.
Stacy: So if you putting your penis…
Joe: I’m hanging up now.
Stacy: …in somebody’s asshole, and this isn’t about sex…
Joe: I am not going to have a sexual conversation with you.
Stacy: …then I don’t know what is.
And:
Stacy: Putting your penis in somebody’s asshole…
Joe: …to have a sexual conversation with you.
Stacy: …is all about anal sex, and that’s what you do…
Joe: Stacy, you have a nice day.
Stacy: …right? That’s exactly what you do.
Joe: Have a nice day, thank you for calling.
Stacy: That’s what you do.
Stacy Harp: Ladies and gentlemen, that was Joe Brummer, denying, that homosexuality, is all about putting his penis, in somebody’s asshole. You know, and uh, it’s really interesting, that you know, he doesn’t have the guts to admit that, but now he wants to make it all about, not that. So, you know, there ya go, I mean this is just evidence that somebody who supports the fact that homosexuality is about um-is about um, you know having kids, having sex with kids, ‘n stuff, unbelievable.
So folks, who do you think needs prayer more? Me or Stacy?
You are certainly in good company with the others she wants people to pray for. Although, from her tone it's difficult to tell if she wants them to pray for salvation or destruction, or if she even sees those as different things for LGBTs.
ReplyDeleteStacy seems fixated on the "putting penis in an asshole" thing. Wow! Is heterosexuality all about sex? No. It's about your sexual orientation - who you are attracted to. It's a biological difference people have - gay, straight, bisexual or somewhere in between. Study Kinsey on his research into fluidity in sexual orientation, Stacy.
ReplyDeleteHomosexuals are people. They just happen to be attracted to the same gender. This isn't just about the sex. For many, it's about building lasting, loving relationships. However, since all Stacy can seem to think about is a man putting his penis up another man's asshole, we know where her mind is!!!
Teaching kids homosexuals exist isn't teaching them about sex. It's about teaching them about diversity and different family structures. Child X can have two mommies or two daddies because "they love each other very much". Explaining that to a child is FINE. Nobody is advocating for teaching a three year old about certain aspects of sex (other than maybe how babies are made - since most three year olds want to know).
As for her claim about homosexuals wanting to have sex with kids - lest we forget, the VAST majority of pedophiles are HETEROSEXUALS.
Stacy needs help. The Bible does not condemn homosexuality, christians do, and its sad. Put her in the past and move on.
ReplyDeleteAll I have to say is, would these people stop praying for me, and us. They need to worry about themselves. And if there is some special heaven for them, I SO wouldn't want to be there with them
ReplyDeleteHer usual eloquent self, isn't she? Let us pray for Stacy Lynn Harp. Lord knows she needs it.
ReplyDeleteI applaud your courage and integrity. Why does anyone take Stacy and those like her seriously? I don't think any human being on this planet is as obsessed with gay sex as homophobes are.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the link Alvin. I have a couple of things to say to her.
ReplyDeleteis she ever obsessed with gay sex!!! is she getting any? most likely not! gay relationships are not all about sex...its part of the relationship but not all of it. then the last comment that gay relationships and sex with children....that torges my ass! that is so far from the truth....satistics say that hetro men abuese sexually with children than homosexuals do. when is religion going to die? hopefully soon!
ReplyDeleteHarp is & from what i've seen always has been a lunatic. Her comments which you've gathered are pretty much her standard ones that she peppers all around the blogging world. The arrogance and derision she constantly shows while claiming that others aren't Christian only highlights how far afield she is from what Christ called His followers to be.
ReplyDeleteDrawing her ire can only be a compliment - you've touched a nerve with her & she never can handle truth. Once she gets the bit between her teeth to target you she is unlikely to let up, short of a restraining order.
Keep up the great work Alvin. Holy bullies & headless monsters indeed. I've been reading your blog for a good while now, and you're certainly far more a Christian than someone like Harp is likely to ever understand.
I've never heard a "Christian" that was so obsessed with asshole sex. Just for her information, there are plenty of us heteros that like assholes, too. Fuck her.
ReplyDeleteNeither you nor Stacy needs prayer. She needs a dose of critical thinking and you need to have a great time at Netroots Nation repping LGBT bloggers who don't stand for religious right attacks.
ReplyDeleteHave a great time, Alvin. Look forward to your return.
Stacy Harp seems to be one of those hetero women who get off on gay male sex.
ReplyDeleteShe's got it set up so she can be holy-holy and still talk about her favorite thing as much as she wants.
I wonder if she has a collection of gay male b***f*** porn? But of course only as proof of "their" immorality....
That's creepy how she kept wanting to talk about anal sex, almost like she wanted to be aroused by it or something. Woman has no evidence and is probably struggling with conflicting feelings of her own. Of course, I'll pray for her.
ReplyDeleteUgh. Just when I'd (thankfully) forgotten all about the very existence of Stacy Harp, she pops up like a bad penny all over again.
ReplyDeleteI remember that exchange between her and Joe Brummer. The crazy burned. Apparently, it still does.
