There will be no news briefs today. But there will be a post. A certain charlatan needs to be figuratively dragged online.
I don't know about you but I am so damn tired of Franklin Graham's ability to get away with being noted as a prominent religious leader even though he wouldn't know Jesus if he got His autograph at the Sermon on the Mount.
It's a sad commentary on Christianity in America when this man is interviewed, usually one-on-one and given the ability to spout lie after lie about the LGBTQ community. Whether being the recipient of interviews which turn into shameless monologues or writing junk on his facebook page and soaking up the "amens" from his ignorant sheep (followers, my ass), Graham is a shining example of the dangers of demagoguery which drapes itself around a cross, thereby masking his true predatory nature.
And he won't be touched. Graham has too much prestige to be harmed by a true look at his motives and claims. However, to suit my personal satisfaction and to have some record of someone calling this evil man out for what he is, I'm going to speak my peace.
What's gotten me riled up? This junk on his facebook page:
See, junk like this is the mess I was talking about in my post from last night. Graham attacks the SPLC for rightfully labeling anti-LGBTQ organizations as hate groups. He also lies about why SPLC calls out these groups.
Now this is my personal opinion - Graham is not stupid. He is not dense. He KNOWS he is being deceptive. But, again for my personal satisfaction, I want to show the world why he is being deceptive.
Graham said the following:
Now if interviewers has any guts at all, the next time Graham came on their show expecting a monologue, they should ask him:
Reverend Graham, you said SPLC attacks certain groups because they hold to the teachings of God's word on issues such as homosexuality and same-sex marriage. Where in God's word does it say that it's okay to make a false connection between homosexuality and pedophilia:
Or how about praising a country for its possible passage of a law which could have seen LGBTQs imprisoned or even executed for being open about their sexual orientation:
And Reverend Graham, where in God's word is it permissible to openly wish for gays to be kicked out of the United States:
Or is it according to God's word to create laws which would imprison people simply for being LGBTQ?

Graham said the following:
The Southern Poverty Law Center in Montgomery, AL, has labeled a number of Christian groups such as D. James Kennedy Ministries, and the Family Research Council run by my good friend Tony Perkins as “hate” groups. Why? Simply because they hold to the teaching of God’s Word on moral issues such as homosexuality and same-sex marriage.
Now if interviewers has any guts at all, the next time Graham came on their show expecting a monologue, they should ask him:

These are the groups YOU are defending. These are the groups you claim that SPLC is persecuting by labeling them as hate groups.
And all of that leads me to ask one more question:
Do you even know what the hell the word 'persecution' means?
1 comment:
Not all religions who hold scriptural (their interpretation of) views about homosexuality and marriage are branded "hate groups" by SPLC. So obviously that is NOT the reason organizations are so designated. SO right there, Graham is lying.
