An ugly comparison of gays and Nazis from the right. |
Yesterday, I posted how the Anti-Defamation League condemned the Family Research Council's Tony Perkins for implying that gays want to start a "Holocaust" against Christians.
The ADL's president, Abraham Foxman, demanded that Perkins apologize for trivializing the Holocaust. However, as Right Wing Watch tacitly pointed out, if Perkins were to recognize his error and apologize, he wouldn't be the only one who had to.
I've noticed that lately, there has been a lot of anti-gay groups and spokespeople who have compared lgbts to Nazis and conjured up visions of how they will harm Christians if given the chance. Thanks to Right Wing Watch, here are just a few:
Alan Keyes Warns Gay Marriage Leads To A 'Totalitarian' Nazi-Like Government
Right-Wing Pundits Call Gay Rights Advocates 'Rainbowshirts,' 'Terrorists' And 'The New Nazis'
Rick Wiles Warns Adolf Hitler's 'Race Of Super Gay Male Soldiers' Is Taking Over America
". . . it’s getting harder every day to tell our modern homo-fascists from the Nazis of the 1930s and 40s. “Gay”-stapo or Gestapo, could somebody please tell me the difference?" - Jeff Allen, editor of the right-wing BarbWire
"In Hollywood’s recent theatrical release of The Monuments Men, the storyline follows an Army unit that was guided by a group of seven museum directors, curators, and art historians as they engaged in a gripping search to recover priceless pieces of art before they were destroyed by the Nazis. Likewise, the hostile homosexual goose-steppers are seeking to destroy marriage, the masterpiece of God’s handiwork. As dedicated Christians, we too must metaphorically endeavor to recover and restore this infinitely valuable work of art before it’s been marred beyond recognition by the “gay”-stapo."" - Jeff Allen of BarbWire (again)
"This summer Franken snuck his pro-bullying legislation which threatens to defund any public school that fails to promote homosexuality (bullying Christian kids to reject their parents' religious beliefs), by inserting the language from his failed "Homosexual Classroorms Act" (aka Student Non-Discrimination) into Senator Tom Harkin (D-IA)'s Elementary and Secondary Education Act (formerly known as No Child Left Behind). . . Franken's "No Child Left Unmolested" amendment will teach your kids to violate your Christian values, and like the Brownshirts teach your kids to report YOU as a hater or bully, if you fail to endorse homosexuality as normal. Is there no end to their depravity?" - Gordon Kligenschmitt of the "Pray in Jesus name" organization
"I mean, ladies and gentlemen, they are Nazis. Homosexual activists, when it comes to freedom of speech, are Nazis. When it comes to freedom of religion, they are Nazis. There is no room in their world for dissent, there is no room in their world for disagreement, there is no room in their world for criticism. You criticize homosexual behavior, they tag you as a bigot and a homophobe and then they got to work to silence you just like the Roman Catholic Church did in the days of Galileo - it's no different; it's the Spanish Inquisition all over again. Ladies and gentlemen, they are Nazis. Do not be under any illusions about what homosexual activists will do with your freedoms and your religion if they have the opportunity. They'll do the same thing to you that the Nazis did to their opponents in Nazi Germany." - Bryan Fischer of the American Family Association
Ex-Gay Activists: Gays Oppressing Ex-Gays Just As Nazis Persecuted Jews
It's disturbing to read this pathetic mess but it's even more disturbing when one takes into account the mindset behind it.
For all of the justified criticism the African-American church receives, I will give it props in one area - it emphasizes hope and faith. These two qualities are the anchors of the black church experience. If black pastors aren't preaching about it, then black choirs are singing the praises of it. Those of us ingrained in the black church experience know of all of the songs - "God Has Smiled On Me," "Jesus Stepped Right in When I Needed Him Most," "Jesus Made a Way for Me," "Hang on In There" and so on.
In contrast, people like Tony Perkins, Gordon Kligenschmitt, Bryan Fischer, and the rest aren't teaching faith. They aren't encouraging anyone. They are marketing fear in the name of God. They don't tell their followers that God is in control and everything will be alright no matter what the future holds. They tell their followers to watch their backs or constantly look over their shoulders. They aren't talking about salvation because they are too busy pushing up the fear of devils.
It makes one wonder if this entire thing isn't just a big racket to them and that the lgbt community is merely a prop for them to gain money and notoriety.

It's partially due to their historical revisionist movement, where they actually claim that major heads in the Nazi regime were actually homosexuals who tortured and killed many a straight person. Of course this is nonsense as any real historian has pointed out over and over again especially since the Nazis were a fundi christian organization.
