Dear religious right, are you mad? Good. Stay mad. |
To say that the religious right and conservatives are breathing fire over the Hallmark Channel's decision to apologize for axing a gay marriage ad would be an understatement. With articles bearing titles such as Hallmark surrenders to pressure from homosexuals, the American Family Association and other like-minded groups have no room for subtlety. They are furious.
Monica Cole, head of the AFA affiliate One Million Moms, had this to say:
And of course the majority of the comments on the article reads as such:“Most of (Hallmark's) viewers are conservative, and so they’re going to push away a majority of their viewership if they do this to appease a small percentage of viewers . . . "so we just want them to realize that they are offending their primary audience by doing this and ruining family movie time. So many feel betrayed because this is one of the very last channels that families could go to and not be bombarded with politically correct commercials and LGBT agenda."
We have to stop caving to the left!!!! Why is it that people feel that they have to do so?! Why are we not allowed to live by our beliefs, and have certain things (movies, shows, channels, stores, etc.) that are untainted by the "shove it down your throat" pro-LGBTQ community?!!!
I mean this sincerely; I wonder what Hallmark will do when the other groups of people who believe "Love is Love," want their representation too. Will they have a Polygamy Christmas Special? Or a movie for pedophiles and zoophiles? There are very real people out there working to make these other forms of "love" legitimate just as the LGBTQ have done for themselves. It's only a matter of time! For anyone scoffing, in the 1970s if you would have said "Gay Marriage" you would have been laughed to scorn, kind of like what some people did when they read my comments above about the other groups. Now, if you say gay marriage is wrong, immoral, etc, you're called a "bigot," a "homophobe" and are "on the wrong side of history!" As a matter of fact NAMBLA (a pedophile organization) was holding hands and marching with the gay community back then but the gay community knew that NAMBLA's form of "love" was too much and would sink their efforts to legitimize themselves so they came out of the closet and shut it in the face of NAMBLA. Since that time ALL of these other groups have been banging on the closet door wanting out too. If anyone doubts what I'm saying just ask me and I'll post some evidence for you. There's too much to post all at once.
But they are a walk in the park compared to comments on the far right site, Free Republic. Or as I like to call it, Orc Central. Seriously, don't ever go to that site without a crucifix, mojo bag, a rabbit's foot. a horse shoe . . . just google religious symbols and good luck charms and get yourself one of each:
The country is changing, and changing fast! But not all the change is in better direction. Personally I am tolerant of all other people regardless of their sexual preferences, so long as they do not push it in my face. The LGBT community has this need to push the envelope and force everyone to not just accept their behavior, but they want you to cheer them on.
I’m guessing the Brunette on the right is the only one in the Relationship allowed to wear the Strap On. Do they use any “realistic” looking Lesbian Couples, or just attractive Actors? The other Ads I’ve noticed are White Men with young Black Daughters. Just the guy and his Kid going for Ice Cream. No Wife to be seen and no “partner” either. Just sayin’...
Someone needs to send Hallmark a Wedding cake filled with shit.
“ force everyone to not just accept their behavior, but they want you to cheer them on.” And then they want you to participate in their deviant behavior, by choice or force. You will submit.
Do they use any “realistic” looking Lesbian Couples, or just attractive Actors?
Witness the death throes of undeserved privilege. That's why the situation with Hallmark was so important. The AFA, Monica Cole, the rabid wolves at Free Republic, and so many others like them have the false view that the concept of "family" belong to them. It's not enough for them to believe that the LGBTQ community are sinful, diseased deviants. They want to bend reality by forcing our community to accept the role they have picked out for it. And how? By saying nothing when our lives and families are minimized and disrespected to fit their narrative.
They don't own shit. Not by themselves, anyway. Whether they like it or not, they are going to have to share it with us. And if they're mad about it, then let them just stay mad.

BlackTsunami,
We should correct the bigots at "One News Now" Hallmark didn't "surrender to pressure from homosexuals," they surrendered to pressure from the American mainstream, most of which are of course heterosexuals. They did not surrender to the "gay agenda" and give into a tiny minority that most people disagree with. That's only what they wish had happened, because they can't stand the fact that most people do not share their bigoted views. If they did there are already countless episodes of children's TV shows that would have been pulled, or more likely never aired because they featured a same sex couple.
BlackTsunami,

Well than Monica, we should be glad that our threats to boycott them worked, so that you bigoted losers will have no where else to go. Oh and by the way, maybe perhaps the people in charge of Hallmark changed their mind, not because of a tiny minority made up of "evil gays," but because they realized that by pulling that add they had upset mainstream Americans and had far more to lose from pulling the commercial and upsetting the mainstream than they did by trying to appease bigots like you. I know you don't like the fact that you're in the minority on this issue, but it doesn't change the fact that most Americans, no longer agree with you.
BlackTsunami,
Here's something else to include in this discussion.
