Two things - 1. Unfortunately, there are a lot of people who believe this lie - that hate crime laws were passed to protect gay men after failed seductions 2. E.W. Jackson, I can assure you that you and I would NEVER be in a situation in which you should fear me hitting on you. I'm gay, not desperate and without taste. But even if I were, you still wouldn't have a chance. Seriously, if I ever found myself in a situation in which I was attempting to seduce you, I'd kick my own ass.

3. Trying to Seduce someone is not a crime, nor is killing someone for trying to seduce you considered self defense. It is what we call murder. The gay and trans panic defense only ever existed because of homophobia and transphobia respectively. We never considered it okay to kill someone else of the opposite sex and cis gender for trying to seduce you, no matter how grossed out you may have been by it. If someone tries to seduce you and they're the same sex and you're not gay, just tell them you are not interested and it wouldn't work out. That is it, after that, if they don't stop, just leave, or if it's your house and they're visiting, you can just kick them out. If they try to force you to have sex with them, that's called rape, not seduction. No one who is remotely in the mainstream is trying to pass laws to protect rapists, gay, straight, trans, cis, or anything else.
I'm a cis-het male, and I've been hit on by guys plenty of times. (Not sure why, but my wife says when I've been drinking I act pretty gay, whatever that means.) I've never panicked or felt threatened. I just say that's not me, if I even notice. I can be a bit clueless at times.
