Karen Pence's homophobia is bad. The homophobia of her defenders is worse

As to be expected, 2nd Lady Karen Pence's decision to teach at an anti-LGBTQ private school has some defenders.

Personally, I and a lot of other folks feel that seeing that she is 2nd Lady of the United States, Mrs. Pence has a responsibility and duty to send an inclusive message to all Americans, especially LGBTQ Americans, our families, and our children. And aligning herself with a private school with a policy against LGBTQ employees, same-sex families, and LGBTQ children is not the way to do it,

However, some folks in the comments section of a One News Now article (which is the "news source" of anti-LGBTQ hate group the American Family Association) have a different take on the situation (click on the graphics to read):

And those comments are nothing compared to the comments on the extreme right-wing site Free Republic:

No school is "anti-student". No school is "anti-education". But schools are, and should be, "anti-distraction". If a school eliminates distractions by having a dress code, or sex-based bathrooms, or sex-divided sports, then it is a "good school" focused on education. All this nonsense about students wearing on their sleeves whom they prefer to have sex with is an enormous distraction to the mission of education.

Amazing how the media decide to push certain stories. Because they aren’t on board with all.the LGBT business, they are tagged as anti gay, and the liberal outrage spews forward. Because in today’s culture, not being fully on board with the cross dressers and people demanding special rights because of gender dysphoria, targets you in today’s world.

They want do to the Pences, Chick Fill A, any orthodox Bible believing Christian person or institution what they did to Anita Bryant back in the late 1970s/early 1980s.

Yes, f...homosexuals are damned and determined to get rid of the Bible, Torah, and religious freedom for true religions.

A reasonable, logical examination of most of the left’s practices and policies will reveal that they are attempting to get to the normalization of pedophilia by hook or by crook. All of this 6-year-old-transgender idiocy is exactly that: sexualizing those who know nothing about sex and don’t care to know just yet.

These monsters want authority over our conscience, authority over our faith and moral codes. They want nothing short of imposing debauchery and to destroy the Judaeo-Christian culture whose greatest fruit is the gift of freedom. A civil society of freedom can be produced no other way except by adherence to the virtues that emanate from a God-affirming moral code.

In defending her homophobia by adding their own, those defending Mrs. Pence make our point. This is not about  "tolerance" nor "personally held religious beliefs." It is about the 2nd Lady of the United States sending a messaging to LGBTQ Americans that not only does she consider us second class citizens, but also that we should simply shut up and take it.
