Here is something from the waaaaaaaayback machine.

The Streets of San Francisco was a 70s police drama starring the late Karl Malden and Michael Douglas before he became a huge star.

It was an interesting show with very well-written scripts. And the following clip is from the episode Masks of Death. In the episode, John Davidson portrays a famous female impersonator whose schizophrenia is leading him to murder men.

As this clip shows, Davidson's performance was riveting. Actual female impersonator, the very talented Jim Bailey provided the voice but Davidson brings the pathos:
