Florida attorney general candidates determined to defend anti-gay adoption law in spite of Rekers scandal

One would think with the scandal surrounding present Florida Attorney General Bill McCollum, George Rekers and questions about his veracity to defend Florida's anti-gay adoption law, prospective candidates for attorney general would be reluctant to still defend it.

Think again.

According to the Miami Herald, the three Republican candidates for attorney general said that they would still uphold the ban:
Three Republicans seeking the post -- Lt. Gov. Jeff Kottkamp, former state healthcare secretary Holly Benson and former Hillsborough prosecutor Pam Bondi -- all say they would continue to uphold the adoption ban.

"The best home for any child is a two-parent home with a mother and a father,'' Benson said.

Perhaps Benson should address the fact that if this is the case, then why couldn't Florida get a credible expert to prove this point rather than Rekers.
