Religious right leader Bryan Fischer: Obama is a boy president

Bryan Fischer of the anti-gay hate group the American Family Association has never been known for his tact and good taste when smearing lgbts, Muslims, and anyone else who doesn't fit his definition of decent folks. However, one would think he wouldn't have stooped to the following when attacking President Obama:

I dare anyone to tell me that this isn't a racist statement.

Two things need to be noted here:

1. I doubt the AFA will take any action against Fischer. I mean the man has

Said that “homosexuals should be disqualified from public office.” (8/5/2010)

Insisted that gays are biased, sexually deviant felons, not to mention pedophiles, and should never serve on the Supreme Court. (4/15/2010, 4/16/2010)
Called gay adoption “a terrible, terrible, inexcusable, inhumane thing to do to children.” (8/10/2010)
Argued that we should“impose the same sanctions on those who engage in homosexual behavior as we do on those who engage in intravenous drug abuse." (2/3/2010)

Wrote: “The inescapable conclusion is that gay sex is a form of domestic terrorism.” (6/10/2010)

Said: “Hitler discovered that he could not get straight soldiers to be savage and brutal and vicious enough to carry out his orders, but that homosexual solders basically had no limits and the savagery and brutality they were willing to inflict on whomever Hitler sent them after. So he surrounded himself, virtually all of the Stormtroopers, the Brownshirts, were male homosexuals.” (5/25/2010)

If the AFA has not put a kibosh on Fischer's mouth after all of this, what makes anyone think that the supposed Christian group will condemn his racial slur of President Obama?

2. All of those African-American pastors and churches who are aligning themselves with the religious right need to take note. Will your "friends" will condemn Fischer's comments or will they pretend not to notice? You need to face facts. These folks do not care about you or African-American issues. And as quick as they play you against the lgbt community, they will turn their backs on you.

One wonders how many of them think of you in the same manner that Fischer thinks of Obama.

Man, it'd be great to say this is racism because he's obviously a scumbag, but it's not. It's clearly a spin on the phrase "boy king", which was originally said about King Tut. It's not about race, but it is about Fischer's opinion on Obama's ability to be president and whether or not he has the maturity for it. The maturity bit is ironic considering who's saying it too.

No justin. There is just too much history involving the racial connotation of using the word "boy" to describe a black man for fischer to not knowing the implications of what he said.

Long ago I started to write a blog post about this jerk, but i had to keep revising it, because he kept popping up in the news with an even more loathsome statement. Finally I gave up.

I question that, BT. Fischer is certainly an anti-gay loon, possibly a racist to boot for all I know, but I don't see it in this tweet of his. There is far too much assumption built into this to make a credible claim that this tweet shows him to be a racist. Perhaps if there were a history of Fischer doing this that might give one an indication of racism, but not from this tweet alone. Eh, if he is a racist wait awhile and I'm sure there will be other examples shortly. Fischer isn't known for keeping his mouth shut, let alone exercising discretion.

There is history documented by splc and people for the american way of fischer making awful comments in regards to native americans and those of the islamic faith. I think this is a mattter of perspective. Afican-americans understand the implications behind a grown black man being called a boy for whatever reason.

Don't forget that this is also the same man who said that Native Americans got what they deserved, and the had no right to expect to remain sovereign on their own lands.

I too have begun posts on Fischer and had to revise them because he kept coming up with more ridiculous rants. It really takes perseverance!

While I agree with Justin D, I think this could be the smoking gun for Fischer: we all need to scream louder at the AFA ... and the FRC (since Tony Perkins has supported him in the past). A couple of full-page ads in USA Today would be nice.

Please stop twisting the guys' words. Sorry, I just don't see the "racism" in this comment, that you people do. I think he was more likely referring to Obama as the youngest ever President, thus, more "boy-like" than "manly". I agree. I think Obama's biggest negatives are his relative youth and inexperience. He's "young", like a "boy" is to a man. Please stop making everything always be about *RACE*...There truly are *NO*"RACES"*...there is only *ONE* "race", the human race. You Lib-tards aren't nearly as "race-neutral" as you seem to think you are...

Anonymous,

your pathetic attempt to defend Fischer is hilarious on various points.

We are talking about a man who is known for making rude and insensitive racial and religious comments. Somehow, I don't think anyone would fall for your silly explanation.

Secondly that comment in which you make assumptions about us "lib-tards" always making things about "race" is undercut by your earlier comment - the one about how "you people" see racism in everything. We all know who you mean by "you people," even though you would probably deny it.

If some of "us people" see racism it's because folks like you make it so obvious almost every time you open your mouths.
