Pat Robertson will accept marriage equality, if . . .(yes it has something to do with anal sex)

Whenever Pat Robertson says something outrageous such as he did in the clip below, I like to remind folks that he was somewhat of a serious presidential candidate in the 1988 election. When they accuse me of lying, I say "it was for the Republican Party."

Then they say, "Ooooooooh."

Pat Robertson: "It won’t stop at homosexuality … well what about polygamy where you’ve got multiple wives. How can we say that one is constitutional and the other is not? [here’s how] And then as you say, what’s so terrible about having sex with animals? Well that’s going to come next. You watch it down the road, Christians are going to be seen … well you’re intolerant, you’re intolerant, you’re trying to mitigate against these nice people who like dogs. What’s wrong with you, what’s wrong with somebody who wants ten wives, five wives, four wives … It is a weird world we’re living in and ladies and gentlemen, please know that your deeply held Christian beliefs are going to be under assault at every single phase of your life and it’s going to get more intense and it’s going to be more intense than Israel."

Does this man not know that the Bible is riddled with God approved polygamy, and not the ten, five and four kind, the in-the-hundreds kind. And let’s not forget that God went looking through the animals for a mate for Adam before coming up with the idea of creating another human.

"Oh, but that was in the Old Testament so it no longer applies."

Not according to Jesus: "Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law (the Old Testament) or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke or a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law (the Old Testament) until everything is accomplished." Matthew 5:17-18

So, Marion Pat Robertson, how could you be “forced” to accept polygamy and bestiality when they are already part of your deeply held Christian beliefs?
