Louis Farrakhan and homosexuality 40 years ago

How's this for a nauseating blast from the past? I found this clip on youtube and just had to share it. It's 1972 footage of Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan talking about homosexuality. Check out how the audience is filled with his supporters cheering him on:

Deviates - he calls us deviates.

I'm sorry - but in my opinion anyone who embraces religious belief to that extent is the deviate.

And I think NOM got some of their tactics from watching this video. Especially the part about packing the stage with your supporters.

Nauseate: To make (someone) feel sick; affect with nausea. To fill (someone) with revulsion; disgust. To feel..sickly; disgusted, revolting, offensive, loathsome, obnoxious, foul, vomitous; gross, gut-churning, gut-wrenching.
Did you really feel that way after listening to that clip?
This was FAR from nauseating. Farrakhan (clearly) very thoughtfully, went deep into the root of this issue. I believe with earnestness and sensitivity. We "all" may not agree with "the lifestyle" however, Farrakhan handles this most sensitive subject in the best manner that I have heard, or seen. It's not hate- filled, or "sickening", as you have indicated.
It does however, provoke deep thought toward the issue. It's clear that he is being compassionate. It's clear that he cares. Its saddening (and interesting...) that you would use such a term (Nauseating) to define his expression. No sir.

I think perhaps your emotional attachment to your position has clouded your perception of the Minister's words. He explicitly said, that we are in no position to judge homosexuals, however throughout the scripture (Bible and Qur'an) God has always condemned such behavior. Deviation in this context is departure from the nature in which man and woman are created. Homosexuality is without question a deviation from nature. That said, like ALL deviant behavior, it is up to each of us to heed warnings to align ourselves with what is acceptable to God or continue in our error and face Divine Judgment. Bottom line is Farrakhan didn't set the standard, he's just a Reminder. Thanks for the post!

Its definitely not bull****. Clearly form fits function. Man's form determines his function (on all levels) and woman's form determines hers. Just as with tools - a hammer's form tells you that it is meant to hammer things. If you try to use a hammer to screw then you will run into problems. So it is with the human being. To misuse self is to abuse self. Period

In other ignorant words, anonymous, it's all about sex rather than relationships. Okay, but your argument is still faulty because you are hinting around sex acts which are enjoyed by HETEROSEXUALS as well as lgbt couples.

With all due respect, I think your sheeplike devotion to Farrakhan has blinded YOU. We gays do not care that much about being "condemned" as much as we care about so-called well-meaning ignorant people spreading falsehoods. It doesn't matter how nice he put it, Farrakhan has no idea what he is talking about. For example, he implied that homosexuality did not exist in Africa, as well to say that the "white man" infected African-Americans with it. However, both you and he should google the names Khnumhotep and Niankhkhnum. You see, they were an Egyptian couple who lived around the 2400 BC. In fact, they were the first recorded homosexual couple in history. Farrakhan does not set a standard, he is an ignorant liar and a long-winded one at that. Perhaps he should spend less time talking and more time learning his own history.

The spread of ignorant information is rather nauseating, don't you think?

How disgusting for a brainwashed religious anti-gay bigot to promulgate baseless hate speech. If "God" is against homosexuality and "the lifestyle," I will eat my hat! Religious texts also have been used to say that blacks are inferior to whites. The Quran instructs readers to find the Jew behind the rock and kill him. Put Farrakhan's tuchus under oath in a court of law, and make him proof the gay-bashing garbage he spews -- beyond the hearsay of religious texts. Hearsay isn't admissible as evidence in court.

Minister Farrakhan apparently wasn't aware that homosexuality is present in virtually all observable species, so this would be considered a "standard deviation" and not a perversion or something out of line with nature. Of course, considering his views on Jews, whites and a number of other things, we can't blame ignorance for everything!
