Rep. Louie Gohmert attacks lgbts for not being weak, deluded pushovers

Just now, Rep. Louie Gohmert made a speech on the floor of the House of Representatives comparing those who seek lgbt equality to Nazis:

Transcript:
So it is amazing that in the name of liberality, in the name of being tolerant, this fascist intolerance has arisen. People that stand up and say, you know, I agree with the majority of Americans, I agree with Moses and Jesus that marriage was a man and a woman, now all of a sudden, people like me are considered haters, hate mongers, evil, which really is exactly what we've seen throughout our history as going back to the days of the Nazi takeover in Europe. What did they do? First, they would call people "haters" and "evil" and build up disdain for those people who held those opinions or religious views or religious heritage. And then the next came, well, those people are so evil and hateful, let's bring every book that they've written or has to do with them and let's start burning the books, because we can't tolerate their intolerance.
I love ignorant, fake Christians like Louie Gohmert because he makes my task of exposing anti-gay propaganda that much easier.

Gohmert suffers from the same mindslip as people like Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council, Matt Barber of the Liberty Counsel, and even the Benham brothers.  They will attempt to deceive you into thinking that they are merely innocently sharing their personal beliefs and Christian faith by cleverly omitting the eyebrow-raising comments they make and actions they take to "share their faith."

In Gohmert's case, he won't tell you about the time he:

asserted that allowing gays into the Boy Scouts would lead to pedophilia,

made crude comments about the alleged sexual habits of gays and lesbians by comparing them to plumbing,

falsely claimed that repealing Don't Ask, Don't Tell would destroy the American military,

supports laws that would allow businesses to refuse service to lgbts on the grounds of "religious beliefs."

Gohmert seems to think that he should be immune to criticism of the way he asserts his supposed Christian faith.

Sorry Louie, but as far as I'm concerned, that notion won't fly.

Or let me put it another way.

You can proverbially show your ass and claim that you are doing so in expression of your Christian faith, but reasonable people like myself won't see your faith.

All we will see is an ass.

So, it is either conform or be silent. I can not understand his version of intolerance. While he can say what he wishes, as should be, any word of protest or defense is not allowed. We are no longer children to be told 'Be quiet, pay attention, and eat your broccoli.'

I have read that, in some cases, nonconformity can now be classed as a mental illness (DSM-IV, latest edition). Well, so be it. In this case, at least, I will stay who I am: a human with my own thoughts, feelings, and opinions. when the occasion arises, as it regularly does, I make my 'thoughts, feelings, and opinions' known. No one, however, is required to agree with me. In the same light, while I will listen, I steadfastly refuse to conform to another simply because they say so.

I never did like broccoli.
