I was also rather happy to see the FDA (theoretically) lifting the ban on LGBTQ blood donations... until I read the second article and the whole 'Oh, no, it's still for a full year, but not permanent now.' Which means... absolutely no change, really.
Honestly, the few times I've given blood (and I really need to do so more), I've just happily lied my way through that part, but I think the FDA's really not making as big a gesture as they think they are.
As for Tim Cook and the whole issue out of Texas (which perhaps unfortunately, I'm personally from), I can't help but wonder if Texas' size, and therefore business opportunities, are what's keeping companies like Dell, IBM, and the like from doing the same as they did with Indiana. Still, one can hope.
And yes, it would be quite hilarious (and awesome) for Cook to flip Texas the bird, though I hope they would make sure to make sure no Apple employees are displaced in the process.

I have to agree with the Tim Cook article. These businesses were willing to back us up in Indiana, I think it's only right that they do the same in other states. Make it clear that only states with true equality will be able to prosper.
