Anti-LGBTQ fake news site whines about 'censorship' while practicing 'censorship'

'Porno' Peter LaBarbera
Lifesite News is another nauseating hard-right fake news site which attacks and smears the LGBTQ community under the guise of preserving morality. Today, the publication is on the warpath because an old enemy of our community, 'Porno' Peter LaBarbera, got checked by Facebook:

Facebook deletes pro-family page for ‘hate speech’ against LGBT

Over the weekend Facebook unpublished the page of a prominent social-conservative group for allegedly using unspecified “hate speech,” Americans for Truth About Homosexuality (AFTAH) president Peter LaBarbera revealed Monday.

AFTAH is dedicated to “apply[ing] the same single-minded determination to opposing the radical homosexual agenda and standing for God-ordained sexuality and the natural family as countless homosexual groups do in promoting their harmful agenda.” LaBarbera frequently debates homosexual issues on mainstream and pro-LGBT media, and has written for LifeSiteNews.
On Sunday, Facebook took down AFTAH’s Facebook page entirely, leaving only a “Page Not Found” message in its place as of the time of this writing.

. . .  “Your Page has been unpublished for using hate speech, which goes against the Facebook Community Standards,” reads a notice LaBarbera shared on Twitter Monday morning. It claims the social media giant “allow[s] individuals to speak freely,” but “take[s] action on reports of verbal abuse directed at individuals.” No examples of hatred or verbal abuse are given.

, , , “Of course, the ‘hate’ charge is spurious and effectively precludes all MORAL opponents of homosexuality from using [Facebook],” LaBarbera said via email. “AFTAH, a Christian educational organization, has from its inception condemned real hatred and violence against homosexuals (or anyone). We have long denounced groups like Westboro Baptist Church with its preposterous ‘God Hates Fags’ message.”
Knowing Peter as I do,  I think there is probably more to the story. We are talking about a guy who has posted obscene pictures of gay men on his webpage along with lurid descriptions of what these men allegedly did at the subcultural events he claimed to have attended  (he tends to ignore mentioning the heterosexuals at the same events even when he posts pictures of them) And don't even get me started about the time he posted a close-up picture of genital warts on his webpage. If LaBarbera invaded Facebook with a small iota of what he put on his webpage then he deserved to get booted off.

But it is highly ironic that Lifesite News is crying censorship. You see the graphic below (click on it to increase the size):

Lifesite News banned me years ago. One of the perks of my 12 and a half years of  work in calling out anti-LGBTQ propaganda is to be able to sometimes refute the propaganda at its source i.e. the comment section of the webpage or news site. Let's just say that several religious right sites - including Lifesite News - aren't exactly agreeable to be called out for deliberately lying on the LGBTQ community.

Granted, Lifesite News is a private company which can ban who it wishes. But so is Facebook. It's the hypocrisy which should be noted.  Lifesite News doesn't have to publish my comments. And on that same note, Facebook doesn't have to give LaBarbera a platform to spread his filth.
