Supporter of homophobic NC Lt Gov Mark Robinson once said gays wear diapers because they stuff bats and cellphones up their rectums

NC Lt Gov Mark Robinson's homophobia is attracting odd defenders.

Homophobia is everywhere and it's amazing how many idiots in American society will attempt and succeed to transform bigots into noble people. Take North Carolina Lt Governor Mark Robinson.

Robinson has been in a controversy recently for a bunch of ugly comments he has made about the LGBTQ community by making it seem that we are attempting to 'recruit' children via books. He has pegged these books as "borderline pornography." He is also playing the media like a harp by attempting to look like he is being besieged because supposedly he is attempting to protect children from filth in classrooms. Of course some members of the media are unconsciously playing along with his narrative by running headlines and articles detailing how Robinson refuses to apologize or resign for his comments, as if he is some type of lone hero fighting an evil menace.

Luckily for us, egotistical types like Robinson don't know when to let go. They mistake notoriety for fame and continue to talk, thereby making themselves look less heroic and more stridently annoying. Robinson seems to be entering that phase about now.

An added advantage is when certain others weigh in during such controversies seeking to get their bit in the spotlight.  In this particular case, there are some coming in to defend Robinson. One is anti-LGBTQ hate group the Family Research Council, which should surprise no one. Dehumanizing LGBTQ people is a massive part of its brand and usually my blog post would talk about them.

However in this case, a more interesting party has decided to defend Robinson and this person makes an excellent point about the vulgarity of Robinson's position.

I give you Bishop Patrick Wooden from the same state:

Bishop Patrick Wooden:

“Many in North Carolina have lost their minds,” Wooden said. “We have a tremendous lieutenant governor—Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson, a history-making lieutenant governor, the only African American lieutenant governor in the history of this here great state—and the man is doing a fantastic job.”

“He’s being attacked by these white leftists,” Wooden added. “They’re the greatest racists on the face of the Earth. No one is a racist like a white leftist.” “The lieutenant governor is standing,” Wooden continued. “He’s all man. I thank God for him. I thank God for him. And I agree with him 100 percent. I agree with his choice of words. He called what they’re trying to do in the public school system with our children ‘filth.’ I think that ‘filth’ is almost a euphemism to be used to describe the mind-bending techniques that they are trying to apply to children in their formative years; trying to get boys to see little boys now as girls when the boy changes his mind and decides he wants to be a girl; want to teach them that homosexuality, lesbianism, and all these things are clean, pure, normal, and natural; want to promote in schools these ideas to our children in their formative years.”

“They want to teach our children things that they know once the children are taught, they can’t unlearn it,” he said. “These folk are wicked to the core. They know how the human mind works. They know that there are certain things that you can see that you can’t unsee, certain things that you can hear that you can’t unhear, and certain things that you could teach—certain ideologies, certain agendas—that you can teach that can’t be untaught. The devil will just hook it into their spirits, and they’re coming after our children.”

“Don’t be moved by those losers that they had the other day doing a press conference—preachers, lesbians, and homosexuals wearing turned-back collars attacking the man for telling the truth,” Wooden declared. “Satan means this thing for evil, but God means it for good. And I say to the lieutenant governor and all right-thinking North Carolinians and Christians around the world: Let’s pray for him. let’s hold him up. There was just a big prayer meeting yesterday in the mansion there with the lieutenant governor, and God is doing great things. So, I thank God for him.”

Awww.

Wasn't Bishop Wooden simply lovely in defending Robinson's homophobia?  The only thing which surprises me about Wooden's comments is how tame they were based upon other things he has said about LGBTQ people in the past. Like in 2012 when he claimed that gays have so much anal sex that we have to wear diapers.

Or when he claimed, in the same year in a follow-up interview, that "a friend of his told him" of a gay man with a gaping hole and that gay men stuff bats and cellphones up our rears.

Bishop Patrick Wooden:

I do not back off or back down from my statements at all. I was giving anecdotal examples that I am personally aware of that have happened as a result of men who have given themselves over to this lifestyle. One man past away, a friend of mine shared this information with me, that where what used to be his anus had become a gaping hole and he literally died in diapers, he literally lost control of himself.
There are examples of men who have stretched their anuses, their sphincter muscles so that they could fit objects into themselves that once the sphincter muscle is stretched too much it will not contract. Because the truth is, despite the anger of the homosexual community, the anus is not a vagina. A vagina, a woman can give birth, God so designed it, the hips release can give birth to babies and things return back to normal. The anus doesn’t work that way; this is one of the reasons why many male homosexuals place larger and larger objects in their rectums. I know of a case where in a hospital a homosexual male had a cellphone lodged in his anus and as they were operating on him the phone went off, the phone started ringing! There’ve been instances where men have put bats, baseball bats, in their rectums!

It goes without saying that none of this nonsense coming from Wooden is true. But let's bypass him because he's not coming across as "all there," so to speak.

But let's not ignore Robinson.  He claims that he is not the bad guy in this situation. Yet, Mr. Robinson you have a guy defending you who claim that gay men wear diapers and stuff things like bats and cellphones up our rears. If you are truly a man of God, you need to stop fighting the so-called external demons and devils and tame the ones inside yourself.  They are making you stink and you're attracting flies.
