South Carolina congressional candidate Mark Burns wanting to execute people for promoting so-called 'LGBTQ indoctrination'

MAGA Candidate Mark Burns Says Those Promoting 'LGBTQ Indoctrination' Should Be Executed for Treason from Right Wing Watch on Vimeo.

I have seen many things in my 15+ years of tracking anti-LGBTQ lies and propaganda, but I don't think I have ever seen such out-in-the-open homophobia and basic hate as I am seeing now.

Around the country, government officials and aspiring government officials have declared war on LGBTQ adults, children, and our families. They have tried to take away our rights to earn a living, be safe in our homes, and even basic healthcare. They have tried to stifle our voices and erase our existence. The only thing missing is open calls for us to be jailed and executed.

That is until now. Mark Burns, a Trump supporting pastor who is running for Congress in South Carolina, recently went on a rambling monologue in which he said the government should start imprisoning parents  who affirm their trans kids, teachers who support LGBTQ kids, and also begin executing them for treason, along with GOP Sens. Lindsey Graham and Mitch McConnell for supposedly supporting any gun control laws.

From PFAW Right Wing Watch:

During an appearance on “The Stew Peters Show” Wednesday, Burns was asked by guest host Lauren Witzke what he would do to fight “LGBTQ indoctrination” if elected to Congress. Burns replied that the LGBTQ agenda represents “a national security threat” and therefore anyone promoting it is guilty of treason and should be executed.

“I vote to make sure that those parents be held for child abuse,” Burns said. “There is no such thing as trans kids, there are only abusive parents who are pushing that evil, evil sexual orientation onto their child’s mind.” “I want to make sure that those parents have been held accountable,” he continued. “We should start putting some of those parents in jail for abusing their child’s minds. Especially in the school system, any teacher that is teaching that LGBT, transgenderism, furries, the groomers, any sexual orientation communication in the school system should be immediately terminated but [teachers should also] be held for abusing young children.”

Burns then declared that the current situation in the United States is “Nazi Germany all over again,” claiming that students today are being “indoctrinated” just as they were by the Nazis to become “future stormtroopers” and members of “the hit squads, the murder squads.” “They were indoctrinating those young minds then; they are doing the very same thing here in America,”

Burns said. “The LGBT, transgender grooming our children’s minds is a national security threat because it is ultimately designed to destabilize the republic we call the United States of America. That’s why when I’m elected, I don’t want to just vote, I want to start holding people accountable for treason to the Constitution.” “I am going to push to reenact HUAC, the House Un-American Activities Committee,” Burns vowed.

“It is a committee that we should reenact that starts holding these people accountable for treason. Lindsey Graham should be held accountable for treason for supporting Joe Biden’s gun-grabbing Second Amendment law that he’s trying to push forward. … Mitch McConnell just [urged] other Republican senators to support Lindsey Graham to come after our guns, to confiscate our guns. That should be held for treason.” “We need to hold people for treason, start having some public hearings, and start executing people who are found guilty for their treasonous acts against the Constitution of the United States of America, just like they did back in 1776,” Burns proclaimed.

Burns, who by the way got called out on live television in 2016 for lying about his education and military service, is piggybacking on all of this nonsense from conservatives accusing LGBTQ people of sexually grooming children.

Burns's tangent by itself is insane, but in this climate it can be downright deadly for LGBTQ people, our families and supporters. On Tuesday, a 17-year-old was arrested for threatening a mass shooting  at a Florida Pride event. Last week, a bunch of clowns made complete fools of themselves by protesting a drag function for kids, falsely claiming that it was sexual. Other conservatives have compounded the lies and outrage by threatening to sponsor laws putting parents in jail for taking children to drag shows and spreading false stories of kids supposedly tipping 'half naked drag queens.'

And don't even get me started on the multitude of  bills and laws pushed and passed by legislative bodies in Texas, Florida, Alabama and other places around the country attempting to keep trans kids from getting basic healthcare, censoring books about LGBTQ lives, and basically trying to shut us and our families out of the American conversation in general.

Maybe Burns's  tangent was merely an inarticulate Freudian slip of possible future plans some would like to have for us.

Babylon Bee editor Seth Dillon caught spreading false story about a child tipping a half naked drag queen

Babylon Bee's Seth Dillon got caught spreading a false story about a child tipping a half naked drag queen.

Just in case you aren't aware, drag queens are now the new scapegoats of conservatives and the right when it comes to accusations of  'grooming' children. We are probably going to be inundated with lies, horror stories and pitifully untrue misconceptions about drag shows, drag queens, and kids.  And I am not simply making that up. These folks will conjure up some of the nastiest, ugliest, most fearful images in an attempt to smear drag culture and the LGBTQ community in general.

Case in point is the following tweet by Seth Dillon. Dillon is the head of the Babylon Bee, a supposed conservative satire news site. The Babylon Bee was recently kicked off of Twitter for 'satirically attacking (misgendering)  Dr. Rachel Levine, the United States assistant secretary for health. Levine is the first trans woman to hold that position. Dillon has been playing the victim on social media and the conservative news bubble because of it.

But I think he has overplayed his hand. Dillon's idea of satire when it comes to smearing drag queens as groomers of children is as droll and basically false as the attack on Levine:

A lot of folks, as you can see by the retweets, was fooled by this claim. That's only because they wanted to be fooled. They hide bigotry and hate behind  a supposed concern for kids. Luckily, not everyone believed Dillon. Someone pointed the truth of the picture:

The photo is from 2019 and it involved a cis female burlesque dancer. Here is the link to the article.  Personally, it strikes me as gross, but overall I am angrier at how Dillon is trying to pass this off as LGBTQ people harming children.  LGBTQ people have been physically attacked, injured and killed because of what junk like this encourages people to do. Someone having a general hate of LGBTQ people can easily be spurred to committing violence because of ugly insinuations like this.

And what makes it even more infuriating is how Dillon tries to pick some sense out of his self-created nonsense:

Here is thing though, Seth. YOU. ARE. A. LIAR. You lied about the photo, you lied about the person in the photo. You lied about drag queens. Why in the world should anyone believe anything you say when it comes to anything negative about drag queens and the LGBTQ community in general when you have demonstrated a desire to make up false stories about us.

And then not even admit that you were wrong. Even if you didn't mean to lie, your stridency and eagerness to smear drag queens and LGBTQ people in general still doesn't do your credibility any favors.

You are the perverted one here. And a perfect epitome of those on your side of the spectrum. You have crafty ways of disguising your lies and making them sound plausible. But sooner or later the stink from them will always give you away.

None of the things any of you are doing is about protecting children or anyone else. It's about exploiting hate, bigotry, and fear for clout and possibly for your own sadistic pleasures. If you or anyone on your side had any morals, I wouldn't have to tell you this.

The difference between drag shows and grooming is easy to tell

With their accusations about 'grooming,' conservatives have now attacked drag shows. Thanks to an incident in Texas involving a drag show which was attended by kids, some folks grabbing their pearls, snatching up their petticoats, and throwing out a lot of misconceptions which need to be cleaned up.

This means we should expect more misleading tweets and videos about drag performers and kids.

Consider the following to be a TED Talk

Let's start with the basics:

1, Drag shows are an art form dating back centuries.

2. Drag shows are not exclusively x-rated or adult oriented.

3. Not all drag queens are LGBTQ or men. Some are heterosexual. Some are women.

4. Drag Kings also do performances

5. Drags shows do NOT always involve sex.

6. Drag queens are not trying to seduce, groom, or have sex with children.

7. Drag queens are not strippers.

8.  Drag performances can take place any time of day in any venue such as festivals, restaurants, theaters, etc.

9. Drag shows and performers are not seedy. They are respected for their talent, discipline to the art, dance skills, art of mimicry, unique costumes, and lip synching.

10. Drag performances are a very popular part of American culture and not just with the LGBTQ community.

11. Drag performances can be original or imitations of divas from Patti LaBelle to Diana Ross to Judy Garland. Some drag performers have even done gospel.

In other words, this is a drag performance and not grooming (in spite of the nature of the tweet):

Now THIS below, this is GROOMING:

Thank you for coming to my TED Talk.

Video: Fox News runs promo celebrating Pride Month (in between programs smearing LGBTQ people)

Thanks to Media Matters, we see the duplicity coming from the Fox News Network. GOP candidate claim teachers are encouraging five-year-olds to have oral sex with each other

Rayla Campbell

All these accusations about teachers 'grooming' children. All of these insane homophobic and transphobic inferences of about teachers trying to supposedly change the sexual identities of children. All of these lies need to be exposed for what they are. They are not the product of parental concerns. They were the gateway for insane folks to grab attention and gain public office.

Exhibit A - Rayla Campbell, a far right, conspiracy theory spouting GOP candidate for the Massachusetts Secretary of State:

Rayla Campbell is a nut. Her comments at last week's state GOP convention were discredited. And even other candidates at the convention called her comments inappropriate. BUT they also backed her general claim that teachers are 'indoctrinating' students. In other words, they don't like the shocking way she said it, but they support the inaccurate inference of what she said.

The point is not so much her chances of winning, which I think is very dim. The point is noting how the threshold is being lowered. There is no sense of shame and decorum with these people any more. No matter how much they pretty up their bigotry to make it palpable, there are always dregs attaching themselves along to remind us about the actual vulgarity espoused.

The only difference between Campbell and someone like Florida Gov Ron DeSantis is a brilliant disguise.  A clever way to disguise the stink, so to speak.

Gay conservative (who claims not to be gay) claims that America never did anything negative to LGBTQ people

Christian Walker is the type of  LGBTQ person we must never become.

I apologize in advance for below, which is probably the biggest bunch of bullshit you will ever hear in a long time:

Yes we all know that this is a bunch of nonsense which not only history but EACH AND EVERY LGBTQ PERSON IN AMERICA can refute, But let's focus on who this nut is.

His name is Christian Walker and he considers himself an online conservative 'influencer.' He is the son of GOP Senate nominee from Georgia and former football star Herschel Walker (who is a hot mess himself, but that's another subject.)

One more thing about Christian. He's gay. Or rather, thinks of himself as attracted to men, but not gay:

His twitter address is full of nonsense like this. As you can tell, he's auditioning to be the love child of black conservative  Candace Owens and gay conservative Milo Yiannopolos. When Walker's not attacking the idea of Pride, he says things like pro-choice women need not worry about abortion bans because they are too ugly to have sex.

And that's not all. Walker busies himself   attacking Joe Biden, kissing up to Donald Trump, and not only embracing far right conservative orthodoxy, but practically slobbering up to it in a passionate embrace not unlike what he wants to do to other men (but that doesn't mean he's gay wink . . . wink).

Attacking other black people is also something he does:

Let's dispense with the nonsense we are bound to hear about Walker.  He is not being attacked for expressing a 'different opinion.' He is not a free thinker or an independent thinker.

Little Walker is a joke and a clown but a dangerous one in today's climate. Ignoring him is only one step. Countering his narrative is a much more important step. There are too many folks willing to amplify him while deliberately stifling the voices of more credible LGBTQ people. They consciously elevate his bullshit even though they know it's a lie because he helps them in their attempt to erase LGBTQ lives, our history, our families, and even our kids.

Walker is useful to them because he is the of personification of what they truly think LGBTQ people are -  moronic mockeries of supposed 'actual people,' vapid, pitiful, self-hating, shallow sprites who are incapable of morality and undeserving of love. They nod at every one of his ridiculous statements of non-solidarity with LGBTQ people while probably laughing behind his back and making fun of his deluded notions of not being gay.

I would venture to say that more of them are saying "that silly bitch" under their breaths than we are.

He is the future that the enemies of equality and the anti-LGBTQ industry wants for us. So while we may laugh at him, we shouldn't allow ourselves to get completely distracted by him. Use him as a challenge to live our lives prouder and tell our stories louder and nonstop.

During LGBTQ Pride Month, we always talk about the kind of  people we want to become. It's equally important for us to take a look at the type of people we do not want to become.

Little Christian Walker is Exhibit A.

Marco Rubio obviously thinks drag queens are more dangerous to children than gun violence

Sen. Marco Rubio won't support gun control legislation but drag queen reading to children gets him very angry.

In wake the school shooting in Uvalde, TX, several members of the GOP have been hemming and hawing about why they still don't support comprehensive gun control legislation. Florida Sen Marco Rubio is no different.

According to Mediaite, Rubio had this to say on March 25:

CNN’s Manu Raju talked with Florida Republican Sen. Marco Rubio about gun control on Wednesday in the wake of the horrific school shooting in Uvalde, Texas, asking about background checks and specific weapons bans.

“I caught up with Senator Marco Rubio of Florida, a Republican whose state witnessed that Parkland massacre at the high school just a few years, four years ago, and I asked him whether or not he would support expanding background checks,” said Raju to introduce the clip on CNN. “He made clear he is not on board with that approach.”

In the clip Raju asked Rubio, “Why not just expand background checks to take more commercial sales? Even if it doesn’t prevent every tragedy, it could surely prevent some, right?” “No, every commercial sale requires a background check,” objected Rubio. “Gun shows and internet?” interjected Raju. “There hasn’t been a single of these mass shootings that have been purchased at a gun show or on the internet,” said Rubio.

“So if people want a deal, we can have that debate. But don’t link it to these horrible events because they would have nothing to do with it.”

“Okay, but what about getting rid of AR-15s?” asked Raju. “Why are these semiautomatic rifles necessary?”

“No, if people want to talk about banning specific guns, they should propose that, but it wouldn’t prevent these shootings,” answered Rubio.

On the next day, Rubio got called out for accusing the NBA of  'politicizing' the shooting.  He did this after Miami Heat announcer Michael Baiamonte called for a moment of silence and afterwards, asking the audience to calling their lawmakers and press for gun control legislation.

Fast forward to May 31:

Since the Daily Wire article is behind a firewall, I looked up another source for what was going on. It wasn't difficult to find since conservative publications generally trade content.

Family Research Council tries - and fails - to gaslight about Pride Month

Just in time for Pride Month, anti-LGBTQ hate group the Family Research Council has launched a new digital media outlet called The Washington Stand.

And of course one of the first article is a serious gaslight about Pride Month entitled After Disney, Will CEOs think Twice about Pride Month:

It might seem like every other June 1, but inside corporate board rooms, this Pride Month feels different. Companies aren’t coasting into this rainbow bonanza like past years — empowered and carefree. They’re looking in the rearview mirror at a 2022 that’s been anything but kind to their CEOs’ woke causes. After the uprising against Disney, State Farm, Starbucks, and Target, the question on most businesses’ minds has to be: Will Pride come before the profits fall?

For most Americans, even the sympathetic ones, June comes with its share of irritation. You can’t log on to social media, shop for groceries, turn on the TV, or even buy a Crunchwrap Supreme without being hit over the head with LGBT propaganda. At the San Antonio Zoo, there’s a drag show. At Taco Bell, there’s a drag brunch. At the Detroit Tigers, there’s free transgender surgery for kids if you support the right organizations at checkout.

. . .  Just this past month, a new poll by the Convention of States Action and Trafalgar Group found that Americans have had it with companies wearing their agendas on their sleeves. People were asked, “How likely are you to stop using a product or service of a company that openly advocates for a political agenda you disagree with?” A landslide majority — 87% — said they were at least “somewhat likely” to stop using the product or service of the company in question. That’s about as close to consensus as it gets. Fifty-one percent took it a step farther, saying it was “very likely” they would look.

That seems to be the new narrative - that business are supposedly learning the hard way that Americans don't appreciate 'wokeism.'  It's a bunch of bunk. First of all, let's talk about that poll. I'd like to see just who was asked.  Both the Trafalgar Group and the Convention of States Actions are incredibly biased. Trafalgar is a conservative polling group who came into prominence because it predicted that Trump would win in 2016.  The Convention of States Actions is yet another far right group which demonizes transgender people and COVID lockdowns. And to top it off, the 'poll' was published in Breitbart, which is infamous for its biased, bigoted, and thoroughly inaccurate content.

But the FRC article itself is a huge contradiction even without recognizing the bias in the poll it cited. In one paragraph, the author claims that there is a fatigue and uprising with things like Pride Month by citing links detailing conservative - and inaccurate  -  renditions of certain controversies. For example the one with Disney involving the 'Don't Say Gay' law which some have acknowledged didn't hurt Disney at all.

Then in the second paragraph, she lists a multitude of upcoming Pride events which we should be ashamed of. Seems to me that if there were truly a fatigue or uprising, these events wouldn't be taking place. So which is it?

It really doesn't matter cause girlfriend didn't write her piece for accuracy.

She and FRC are attempting to create a narrative that somehow people are getting tired of  'wokeism' and Pride month and this is causing companies to become weary.  The truth is just the opposite. Disney,(which ironically is the focal point of the article)  Target, and a multitude of others are in fact attempting to cash in on Pride Month.

That is an interesting - although some see it as unfortunate - side effect of companies recognizing LGBTQ people. They also recognize our influence and the power of our purse.  Companies see green in those rainbows during June and they aren't letting that go.

Now the sincerity of all of this is an argument for another time, but any notion that companies or CEOs are fatigued with Pride month is ridiculous.  Simply ridiculous.

June 2022 is here with Saturday Night Live's Pride Month Song!

Wednesday will be the first day of June and thus the beginning of Pride month 2022. I have a feeling that certain people may attempt to make this year's pride month very interesting with all of the chaos they have been attempting from accusing us of grooming kids to demanding that LGBTQ books be banned from school and public libraries.

No doubt that element will present itself in an attempt to spoil our time. In anticipation, I am posting the video above from Saturday Night Live as a way of easing us into the month with a bit of comedy and good feeling. Also as reminder that it's still our month and our time. No one will ever take that and anything else away from us. No matter how hard they try.

BUT if worse comes worse, y'all still enjoy the month. Leave the ruckus raising to me. That will be how I enjoy the month.

Anti-LGBTQ grifter Christopher Rufo makes a fool of himself with latest 'attack' on Disney

In the midst of this awful tragedy of the mass shooting at Uvalde which claimed the lives of 19 students and two teachers, one would think that folks on the far right would cool down their lies about public schools being LGBTQ-indoctrination centers and teachers 'sexually' grooming children to become LGBTQ.

Are you kidding? Not when there's money to be made, fear to be exploited, and clout to be snatched. And on the front line is the guy who is seizing fast notoriety (and possibly becoming a pet project of this blog), Christopher Rufo

Check out this tweet he sent out

To be fair, Rufo sent out this tweet before the tragedy. But if he has an ounce of good taste, he would have deleted it afterwards.

The irony is that there is nothing shocking or unscrupulous about this video. Rufo is obviously counting on the shock value of his accusations to get him and his claim over.  What's even more ironic is the clips he posted were from a Pride celebration Disney had last year, which is available online for anyone who wants to see it.

And it was spectacular."

So not only was Rufo lying about this Disney spectacular, but he was also very tacky in omitting that it was from last year and is publicly available, which  undermines the narrative that Disney is somehow trying to being sneaky. And personally, I find the spectacular to be wonderful.  I would rather have our children learning about respecting and appreciating the differences in each other and themselves instead of being fearful of being shot at school.

Too bad Rufo obviously doesn't feel the same way.

No doubt with the Pride month of June beginning this week, this is probably an opening salvo of Rufo and company to smear LGBTQ people and further paint us as pedophiles and groomers. Thus far it came across as weak and especially limp, which is an astute resemblance to Rufo's character.

Far-right bigots spread rumor that Rice Krispie mascot is coming out as a trans woman

Remember when the late Jerry Falwell accused Tinky-Winky, a character from a children's television show of being gay? That's cocktail canape compared the newest anti-LGBTQ conspiracies floating in social media.

From The Associated Press:

Facebook, Instagram and Twitter posts this week featured an image made to look like an online CNN story about the popular Kellogg’s cereal Rice Krispies. “Kellogg’s spokesperson announces Rice Krispie mascot ‘Pop’ is now a trans woman,” read a fake headline that misspelled the famous cereal brand, Rice Krispies. The image was edited to look like a real CNN story published May 20. While some social media users spread the image as a joke, others believed the fake story and expressed outrage in response. A search of CNN’s website found no legitimate reporting that matched the image. Emily Kuhn, senior director of communications at CNN Digital Worldwide, confirmed in an email to The Associated Press that the image was fabricated and no such story had been published by the cable news network. Kellogg’s spokesperson Kris Bahner also confirmed the company had not made any such announcement.

According to Snopes, a site devoted to debunking rumors and hearsay stories:

The meme consisted of a cartoon showing Snap, Crackle, and Pop, the well-known gnome mascots of Rice Krispies cereal, along with the following text, presented as the headline of a CNN article: “Kellogg’s spokesperson announces Rice Krispie mascot ‘Pop’ is now a trans woman.”

It’s not clear who created the bogus headline, but it emerged on AR15 , a right-wing forum, and before that, on the /pol/ section of 4chan — a notorious wellspring of bigoted, far-right memes.

Hat tip to LGBTQNation.

Former Family Research Council spokesman Josh Duggar sentenced to 12+ years for possession of child porn

Josh Duggar

The Family Research Council loves to portray LGBTQ people as pedophiles and 'groomers.' Maybe it should acknowledge the problem it once had in its own house.

From Raw Story:

Former reality TV star Josh Duggar has been sentenced this Wednesday to over 12 years in prison in the wake of his conviction last year on possession of child pornography charges, news outlet KNWA reports. Duggar was sentenced to a total of 151 months. Duggar was arrested in April of 2021 after federal agents executed a search warrant at Duggar’s place of employment, seizing multiple electronic devices and pieces of evidence, including one video that Special Agent Gerald Faulkner called “in the top five of the worst of the worst that I’ve ever had to examine.” Duggar was unanimously found guilty on the charges back in December.

 According to CNN

Duggar is the oldest son of Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar, whose family and devout Christian lifestyle were the subject of the TLC show "19 Kids and Counting." The show was canceled in 2015 in the wake of allegations that Josh Duggar had molested girls as a teen, including two of his sisters, Jessa Seewald and Jill Dillard, who spoke about the allegations in an interview with Fox News. He was never charged in relation to those allegations.

That particular controversy ruined Duggar's reputation as anti-LGBTQ activist for the Family Research Council. He served the group as executive director of  its lobbying group, FRC Action from 2013 until 2015 when the initial scandal of him molesting his sisters forced him to resign.

Before the sh!t hit the fan,  Duggar claimed that he was working with FRC to 'promote family values.'  In 2014, he and his family helped in a successful campaign to repeal a nondiscrimination ordinance in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Central to the effort was a robocall by his mother, Michelle, which implied that trans women were predators:

"Hello, this is Michelle Duggar," the robocall begins. "I’m calling to inform you of some shocking news that would affect the safety of Northwest Arkansas women and children. The Fayetteville City Council is voting on an ordinance this Tuesday night that would allow men — yes, I said men — to use women's and girls' restrooms, locker rooms, showers, sleeping areas and other areas that are designated for females only.

"I don’t believe the citizens of Fayetteville would want males with past child predator convictions that claim they are female to have a legal right to enter private areas that are reserved for women and girls. I doubt that Fayetteville parents would stand for a law that would endanger their daughters or allow them to be traumatized by a man joining them in their private space. We should never place the preference of an adult over the safety and innocence of a child. Parents, who do you want undressing next to your daughter at the public swimming pool’s private changing area?"

Maybe if Mrs. Duggar had her eye on the actual predator who was in her family instead of attacking trans women . . .
