'Wayne Besen makes mincemeat out of religious right figure during interview' and other Friday midday news briefs

Wayne Besen makes mincemeat out of the Family Research Council's Peter Sprigg:

Trust me when I say you will need a smoke after watching this video. See what happens when religious right figures are confronted with their lies.

In other news:

North Carolina Cafe Owner Hands Lesbian Couple Letter Condemning Homosexuality As They Leave - So I guess harassing gay and lesbian couples after they've eaten at your establishment and paid their bill should be considered as a "religious liberty?"

Author of 'don't say gay' bill heads Missouri House education committee - This should scare those who care about our lgbt youth.

Buster Wilson: 'There is Nobody Out There that is Any More Hateful' than 'Big Gay' Bloggers - My heart bleeds for Buster but what he calls "hate" is what we call standing up for our dignity. And we will continue to do so.

I wonder why Sprigg and the FRC et al are so concerned with 'sexual conduct'. It just exposes that they're operating purely from animus, or the ick factor.

Money quote:
--
Peter Sprigg (FRC): The world we live in is increasingly marked by the enforcement of intolerance in the name of tolerance, exclusion in the name of inclusion, and forced uniformity in the name of diversity. It’s contradictory, it’s down right Orwellian, and yet people actually make theses statements with a straight face.

Wayne Besen (TWO): Peter, I find it ironic that you’re embracing diversity. You called for the imprisonment of gay people and said we should export homosexuals out of the united states and suddenly you’re for tolerance? I’m a little confused here.

Peter Sprigg (FRC): Well, this is about Pastor Giglio and President Obama, it’s not about me.

Carol Costello (CNN): Wayne is right about that, Peter.
