Stacey Dash: Transgender people should use bushes for bathrooms - You know at first, I regarded Dash as a mild annoyance, i.e. a failed actress who lucked into punditry and saying anything to get a paycheck. But now, the chyle has gotten personal. She sucks up all of the anti-transgender garbage and spews it out. Girlfriend, do you even HAVE a brain to process facts?

Giving our transgender children a voice

I am amazed and saddened that during these arguments about "bathroom bills" and the transgender community in general, the religious right and their allies are always spouting nonsense about "protecting the children," when the sad irony is that their lies hurt children, i.e. our transgender children.

And what's worse is how these folks bogart the debate so much that it's difficult to hear what our transgender children have to say. And they have a lot to say. Hearing them clears up a lot of confusion:

The group Mass Resistance is a vile anti-gay group of the lowest order. Led by Brian Camenker, a man so creepy you would feel as if you need a  bath after merely shaking his hand (I should know because I once met him), the group seeks to demonize the lgbt community via lurid stories of "child recruitment," nasty attacks on the transgender community, and the pièce de résistance - videotaping public gay functions.

According to the Southern Poverty Law Center, which lists Mass Resistance as an anti-gay hate group:

In 2006-2007, Mass-Resistance pushed for an amendment of the 1996 statute that would have required that parents be notified of any discussion of gay or lesbian issues in the schools. The group proposed language that lumped sexual orientation (which includes heterosexuality, homosexuality and bisexuality) in with criminal behaviors like bestiality and polygamy. During legislative testimony supporting the amendment, Camenker falsely claimed that no homosexuals died in the Holocaust and that the pink triangle the Nazis forced imprisoned gays to wear actually signified Catholic priests. The amendment did not pass.

Camenker, who has long focused on the purported “homosexual agenda” in the schools and frequently claimed gays are dangerous to kids, has repeatedly cited discredited claims from organizations like the National Association for Research and Therapy of Homosexuality that link homosexuality and pedophilia.

If we are to believe Mass Resistance, the following demonstrates the supposed shocking and evil things which goes on during a gay/straight alliance public event.



Is that it? "Shit, I could have had a V8."

Seriously though, it's how tragic Mass Resistance takes the innocent realities of our lgbt children and attempts to turn them into something ugly. It's even more tragic to think of the silly folks ready to believe what Mass Resistance puts out.

James Dobson gets super creepy (and inaccurate) about transgender community

James Dobson enjoys getting super creepy about trans community

Supposed kingmaker of the 2004 presidential election James Dobson recently crawled out of his crypt of irrelevancy to attack President Obama for his trans-inclusive directive to America's schools.

But Dobson doesn't stop with simply attacking the president. He throws all sorts of wild, inaccurate stuff about the transgender community which, honestly speaking, should make people wonder where his head is at, so to speak.

Obama, acting like a king, is wielding dictatorial powers never envisioned in the law. He is determined to change the way males and females relate to one another, and worse, how children perceive themselves. If you are a married man with any gumption, surely you will defend your wife’s privacy and security in restroom facilities. Would you remain passive after knowing that a strange-looking man, dressed like a woman, has been peering over toilet cubicles to watch your wife in a private moment? What should be done to the pervert who was using mirrors to watch women and girls in their stalls? If you are a dad, I pray you will protect your little girls from men who walk in unannounced, unzip their pants and urinate in front of them. If this had happened 100 years ago, someone might have been shot. Where is today’s manhood? God help us! 

It's not just the fact that Dobson is inaccurate about women's restrooms having urinal stalls, or the idea that transgender women would peek at women on the toilet.

It's like he enjoys talking about it. Either he is enjoys grossing people out with these lies or is he opening a window into his mind? Maybe it's just me but the way anti-gay leader James Dobson talked about transgender men and women using public restrooms crossed the line from issuing warnings to a perverted enjoyment of shocking people.

I'm not a psychologist, so I won't make assumptions except for one.

Perhaps we should fear folks like James Dobson with such vivid imaginations instead of transgender men and women who are only seeking to use the restroom without any attention.

Conservative talking head - Gays are trying to use Disney to 'recruit' children

When everything else fails, the religious right always claim this.

It never fails. In almost every issue, the religious right turns to the one fear tactic guaranteed to turns heads:

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the activist group GLAAD gave Disney, Paramount and Warner Bros. failing grades as a GLAAD spokeswoman was quoted as saying "Hollywood's films lag far behind any other form of media when it comes to portrayals of LGBT characters."

Matt Philbin with the Media Research Center tells OneNewsNow that GLAAD is working hard to normalize homosexuality – and they know where to go to do it.

"What happens on the screen has a huge impact," he explains, "and that's why the lefties in Hollywood and the radical groups are going to keep pushing and keep pushing: they understand the power they have." 

By pressuring Disney, Philbin argues that GLAAD is targeting kids.

"They're talking about Disney's bread and butter," notes the MRC spokesman. "They're talking about kids' movies and they're talking about normalizing homosexuality for children as young as 3 or 4 years old in such a way that, yes, this becomes something they see on the screen, something that they are told by the media is normal, everyday behavior."

Philbin is way behind. Putting his phraseology aside, children are already aware of lgbts. They have friends, neighbors, and family members who ae lgbts. In some households, they are even being raised by lgbts.  Odds are they see lgbts as normal because that's exactly what we are. We don't need Disney to do the job that is already being done.

And there is nothing any type of hand wringing can do about it.
